Our group classes will include everything from puppy to leash manners, reactive dog rehabilitation, and a specialized breed class for DC’s incredibullies!

Beyond the basics and concerns we address with our courses, there are a hundred ways to keep the fun going and dive into the joy of training, and playing with extracurricular courses for all breeds and ages.

75 Minute Meetups

Try a new sport! Problem solve and work around a variety of behaviors and skills  Play! and  best of all have a new experience and bond with your dog, your best friend.

Meetups are 75 minute workshops for only $55 that provide a constructive and fun environment to train, experiment, and play in a loosely guided context with plenty of other in-training pooches and their responsible humans! Better than a free-for-all dogpark any day!

So many tricks so little time! Using shaping, capturing and luring we are giving you the game plan to start and finish Take a Bow, Roll Over, Shake, Sit Pretty, Army Crawl and maybe even sneeze on cue!
Meet up! A 75 minute workshop: Cooperative Care: 
Make grooming, handling and vet visits a pleasant trip for both ends of the leash! This simple game will help with impulse control as well as desensitization to common handling practices that some pups become uncomfortable with such as nail trims, collar grabs, ear cleaning and more.

Admitting the problem was easy and this class will help teach alternate behaviors and set up scenarios to solve your dog's love of thieving from table tops and counters.
Meet up! A 75 minute workshop: Detective Dog is a fun intro to nosework games. 
This is a safe class for both reactive and non reactive dogs. Let us show you how to take part in the one game your dog probably already knows better than you - Use the Nose!

Join us for an afternoon of fun as we learn five exercises anyone can practice weekly to smooth out the edges of your leash manners.

Balance, core strength, body awareness all available for your dog's health and fun!  Tunnels, jumps and fitpaws are all play in the studio and can easily be set up at home for new games. This class is definitely another great rainy day adventure!

A great management plan isn’t just for emergencies, it’s about prevention. Muzzle training, gates, tethers and leashes can all be functional prevention tools taught using fun, effective methods. Teaching a dog to wear a muzzle with with joy for those just in case moments is at your fingertips!

Whether you have a herding dog or not this class introduces you to the simple art of sending your dog out to herd some yoga balls!

It may be that you and pup are still working on polite greetings and that's ok! We love our fun and social pups, but let us help you to get some exercises going, giving you tips and tricks to help you be successful!

Join us for an afternoon of fun as we learn five exercises anyone can practice weekly to work towards that perfect emergency recall!
Meet up! A 75 minute workshop: Separation Anxiety - where to start, what to consider. 
Learn how to start reducing anxiety around your departures by reinforcing calm distance behaviors. We will go over breaking down criteria to desensitize your pup to exit cues and even the use of tech to get us to the next steps.

What is noise phobia and can you actually reinforce fear of thunderstorms and other noises? This workshop takes a peek what “noise phobic” dogs react to and ways you can help a fearful dog with games, changing the environment and how to talk to your vet.

Solutions for the mouthy puppy. Rather than asking our puppies to STOP touching and stealing all our human things, so much simpler is the idea that we can get them to take their toys with pride! Together, we will learn to play easy and fun games including Drop and Leave It with us humans.

Great rainy day games for you and your pup! This class will get you teaching pup to push doors closed, moving toys, ringing bells and rollin' yoga balls with their nose!

Great rainy day games for you and your pup! This class will get you teaching your pup to shake, high five, fake leg lift pee and more!
Meet up! A 75 minute workshop: The Leash Reactive Dog. 
This workshop is humans only. Join us for a conversation on canine body language, and how to use a simple technique called "capturing" to help your dog get engaged and settled. Capturing will also help your pup with moving better on a leash and looking forward to seeing other dogs!
Meet up! A 75 minute workshop: Volume Control
Why is pup barking and what protocols can you introduce to create a happier, quieter, home and life for everyone? Each human and canine will walk away from this class with five exercises to help reduce the volume in and out of the home.

Group Class Details

Puppy 1.0 Manners

Age: Appropriate for puppies age 2 - 6 months.

Vaccine Requirements: First round of DHLPP or DHPP vaccine (Distemper and Parvo) required prior to first play/class.

Tuition $210. for Puppy 1.0 Manners. Register HERE.

Length: 5 consecutive weeks, same day and time. - 50 minutes per lesson.

 

This class is held on and off leash for all 5 sessions.

Class Description: Our five week course ensures that you and your pup receive time sensitive training in three urgent areas:

Puppies will be safely socialized to people so that later in they are less likely to become fearful of strangers or children.

Humans will learn how to teach their pups to have soft mouths, to direct chewing to appropriate toys and how to prepare your pup for grooming and veterinary care. Puppies will also learn the companion cues that will help both engage in training and settle to help minimize separation anxiety.

Working as a team through these urgent skills we will also introduce how to read canine body language, how to teach basic cues that we will continue to progress in puppy manners two. And, yes, we will review potty training and help guide you with quick tips and age relevant physical and mental components to master the puppy bathroom routines.

Puppy 2.0 Manners

Age: Appropriate for puppies age 4 - 10 months.

Vaccine Requirements: Proof of rabies vaccine and up-to-date DHLPP/DHPP.

Tuition $210. for Puppy 2.0 Manners.  Register HERE.

Length: 5 consecutive weeks, same day and time. - 50 minutes per lesson.

This class is held on and off leash for all 5 sessions.Class Description: Our 4-8 month old pups now have the innate and learned confidence to start consistently walking further and exploring, as well as being physically more coordinated, so our focus shifts to help your pups through the middle school age.

Puppy Manners two will continue the teach canine body language, as well as how to use shaping, capturing, luring and targeting to raise criteria for cues like go to place, come, leave it stay and more.

There will be a  a new focus on introducing leash skills and working on come when called as your pups are now fully vaccinated and ready to see more of the great DC neighborhoods on your adventures as well as having a solid introduction to foundation skills from puppy 1.0 Manners.

Play Dates: puppy 2-6 months of age

Vaccine Requirements: First round of DHLPP or DHPP vaccine (Distemper and Parvo) required prior to first play/class.

Length: one hour. 

Class Description:    The MOST important part of living with puppy is puppy socialization!  << Watch me!!

Young puppies have a critical window that can close before 18 weeks of age. During this critical socialization period your pup must be exposed to anything your would like them to cope well with as an adult. Under socialized puppies will have behavioral problems.

During supervised puppy play we will create purposeful, positive associations with new sights, sounds and smells.  We will encourage healthy play with other dogs and people, and allow each pup space when they need it.  We will teach you when and how to interrupt play and every new puppy parent will learn about canine body language to ensure two way communication as you step into puppy class.

Health: Please keep your puppy home if he or she is sniffling, sneezing, coughing, has a runny nose, diarrhea, or shows any other signs of illness.

Play Dates: adolescent 6-10 months of age

Pre requisite:
All attendees must have gone through a Puppy 1.0 Manners or Puppy 2.0 Manners class.
Vaccine Requirements: Proof of rabies vaccine and up-to-date DHLPP/DHPP.

This play hour will be slightly more structured than Puppy Play (2-6 months of age)
We will be incorporating recalls aka COME, SIT, DOWN and PLACE with structured play, new surfaces and introducing new ways to play with your dog moments!

 

Dog 1.0 Manners       

Dogs must be friendly and non-reactive with other dogs and people. 

Age: Appropriate for puppies age 8 months old - senior canines.

Vaccine Requirements: Proof of rabies vaccine and up-to-date DHLPP/DHPP.

Tuition: $210. for Dog 1.0 Manners. Register HERE.

Length: 5 consecutive weeks, same day and time. - 50 minutes per lesson.

This class is held on leash for all 5 sessions.

Class Description: This class provides focused exercises on the most desired and necessary companion dog skills. Start your dog’s skills in a safe environment with support and coaching and easy to follow in home games to practice and replicate real life situations. 

Skills taught include polite greetings, go to bed with sit and down, cooperative care and we will introduce Come when called and Loose Leash exercises. 

Upon completion of Dog 1.0 Manners  you will be welcome to continue to build on essential skills with our Come when called and Loose Leash skills that will be taught inside and outside as weather allows. 

Leash Manners 

Dogs must be friendly and non-reactive with other dogs and people.  

Age: 4 months to seniors. 

Vaccine: Proof of rabies vaccine and up-to-date DHLPP/DHPP.

Tuition: $210. for Leash Manners. Register HERE.

Length:5 consecutive weeks, same day and time. - 50 minutes per lesson.

This class is held on leash for all 5 sessions.

Class Description: Walking with dog on leash can look like many different things: dog on the left in a traditional heel, dog on right to follow flow of traffic laws, dog leading the way, dog on a sniffer with nose to the ground finding everything!   All are correct, and have a place and time, as long as there is no tension in the leash!  The goal is walking harmoniously with your dog who is engaged and checking in because of the relationship you have and the skills you’ve taught! 

Come When Called

 Dogs must be friendly and non-reactive with other dogs and people.

Age: 4 months to seniors. 

Vaccine: Proof of rabies vaccine and up-to-date DHLPP/DHPP.

Tuition: $210. for Come When Called. Register HERE.

Length: 5 consecutive weeks, same day and time. - 50 minutes per lesson.

This class is held on and off leash for all 5 sessions.

Class Description: Teach your dog to Come When Called with enthusiasm; no matter the distraction! We will teach you how to use motivators like play to increase drive. Food games, hide and seek, touch, and basic agility skills will help you have a great class with your dog while learning an indispensable skill.

This class is great companion to any of our basic puppy and dog manners classes and will help you raise your criteria and proof behaviors in new situations. 

 

Reactive 1.0 Dog - The Starter Kit-

dogs that bark, lunge or tuck tail in fear from strangers or other dogs are welcome in this class!

Age: 8 months to seniors.

Vaccine: Proof of rabies vaccine and up-to-date DHLPP/DHPP.

Tuition: $280 for Reactive Dog Manners. Register HERE.

Length: 6 consecutive weeks unless otherwise noted - 50 minutes per lesson.

This class is held on leash for all 6 sessions.

Class Description: By carefully orchestrating controlled exposures to triggers in a class setting students will learn to train their dogs to tolerate progressively greater exposures to “boogiemen/dogs” that might be encountered in the environment.

The reactive dog starter kit will provide you with a week by week guide to goals, concepts and exercises to help you manage and prevent situations.  Class will delve into conversations to help you read your dog, define your dog’s triggers and what we can do using operant, classical and counter conditioning to achieve better behavior and a calmer canine!

We are happy to work in conjunction with your vet or vet behaviorist for any reactive dog or any class or in home lesson.  A dog that is physically and mentally healthy is the best dog, and has the best chance at learning new skills.

 

Reactive 2.0 Dog - On the Road! - Coming Soon

Reactive 2.0 - On the road! - Continuing on with reactive dog I protocols this class will head outsdie and incorporate more patterns that dogs often use with each other to help build relationships, like follow the leader, parallel walking, and we continue to perfect our emergency u turns, counterconditioning and other managemetn skills.
